Guns 'N Roses - "Welcome To The Jungle"
Guns 'N Roses revolutionary debut album, Appetite For Destruction, was released 28 years ago today. I remember how much many of my friends and classmates loved this album. It was so exciting and kind of raunchy, but really great rock music. I just learned today that, instead of having a side A and side B, the LP had a side G and a side R. So badass!
(For anyone under 25, LPs are vinyl records that you are now buying because you think it's hip. We didn't have much of a choice back in the 80s - it was either vinyl or casssettes.)
I wasn't into it as much at the time, but I have definitely come to appreciate them. And amazingly, it appears that this is the first time they're on the #YearlongMixtape!
When they were inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 (along with the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers), it was the first Hall of Fame class where I remembered the bands' debut albums being released. And even though they're not together, I think there are few bands whose fans want them to reunite as much as GNR.
