Heart - "These Dreams" and "Straight On"

One of the many cool things about yesterday's festival was that the Foo Fighters invited artists from almost all of the cities that Dave Grohl profiled in his outstanding Sonic Highways series.  Heart (representing Seattle!) was one of the bands I was really excited to see, and besides the Foos, they were definitely the crowd favorite.  They ROCKED!

They played my two favorite of their songs back to back, so I'm sharing them on the #YearlongMixtape.

"These Dreams" is their one of '80s hits, featuring Nancy on vocals.  Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics.  Beautiful harmonies on this one!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkuyTX_KbGY

"Straight On" is a totally different song - funky and rockin' - and Ann still sounds unbelievably great.

Dave wanted to do it in DC because he grew up just outside of the District in Springfield, VA.  I'm so glad he grew up close by so we could go to the show!  It was a true privilege to be there.  In case you're wondering, here's the lineup, and the cities they're from:
RDGLDGRN - Washington, DC (unfortunately we missed their set)
Trombone Shorty - New Orleans
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - Los Angeles
Gary Clark, Jr. - Austin
Heart - Seattle
LL Cool J - NYC
Buddy Guy - Chicago
Trouble Funk - Washington, DC
