Queen - "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" - #LiveAid30
Today is the 30th anniversary of Live Aid. I very vaguely remember seeing part of it on our very tiny TV in our living at our house on Orchard Rd. I think we were actually having a yard sale that day. I only remember seeing a couple of performances, and I don't remember who it was that I saw. I very highly recommend watching the Live Aid DVD that was released a few years ago.
It's also been 10 years and 11 days since Live 8, which I had the pleasure of attending and volunteering at in Philly. I don't have to explain how significant the cause of ending poverty is to me, and while I might not always see eye-to-eye with all of the views of "Saint" Bob Geldof and Bono, I think that any interest in helping everyone everywhere live a life of dignity is a great thing.
I know I'm gonna get kicked out of the U2 fan club for NOT choosing their performance of "Bad" as today's song, but this is probably the most memorable performance of the event. Freddie Mercury shows why he's the greatest frontman ever. (Hold your rocks, U2ers! Yeah, I said it!)
